About Me

Tetiana Nika

My name is Tetiana Nika, but I often go by “Tanya”. I am an undergraduate Biology B.S. major at Stony Brook, with specialization in Developmental Genetics and minor in Studio Arts; and a UGC Fellow involved with integrating incoming freshmen/transfer students on campus.

My choice of major was obvious to me ever since I can remember: throughout my entire life I’ve been mesmerized by the living things. Cellular biology has been a true passion of mine since late middle school. I am especially curious about it in the context of development, gene expression, stem cell differentiation, aging, and oncology. After graduating, I want to continue this journey in grad school and eventually dedicate my career to research and higher education, since I believe in contributing to scientific progress!
