About Me

Ramizah Tayiba

My name is Ramizah Tayiba. I am an undergraduate student at Stony Brook University, studying Applied Mathematics and Statistics and Environmental Design, Planning, and Policy.

I have always been a firm believer that by combining different disciplines, you open a whole new world of learning opportunities. That is the story of how I ended up at the Dormant Biology Laboratory. I was fascinated with how mathematics can apply to a biology study of aging and dormancy. How can math functions have anything to do with the killifish? These are the questions I asked myself, realizing that math is applicable anywhere. Approaching everything with a mathematical approach can unlock mysteries and uncover whole new questions. This is what I hope to do during my time at Stony Brook and beyond.
