About Me
I am originally from Upstate New York and graduated from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY, with a degree in Biochemistry. For my undergraduate thesis, I focused on the purification and characterization of a ferulic acid esterase with potential applications in beer production. Additionally, I spent a summer at the Masonic Medical Research Institute, where I contributed to the development of a classification tool for a congenital heart disease gene.
I am pursuing a PhD in the Molecular and Cellular Biology Program at Stony Brook University. While my undergraduate background was in biochemistry, my interests have shifted more toward the molecular side of research. I have a broad range of research interests, and I am eager to hone my focus during my rotation in the Dormant Biology Lab, where I hope to deepen my expertise in molecular biology techniques and explore new avenues of inquiry using the African killifish.
In my free time, I am a big foodie and love making all of the different recipes I find on Instagram. I also love reading novels from a variety of genres, which allows me to relax and immerse myself in different worlds and perspectives.
